Gabriella ten Have received her BSc in Biology at the Ghijsen Instituut in Utrecht, Netherlands. Her thesis was on thesis: Endotoxin-induced reduction of ß-adrenoceptor number in guinea pig splenic lymphocyte membranes.

She later worked at the department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Animal Medicine, University of Utrecht, and at the Department of Molecular Biology, NKI (Dutch Cancer Institute) in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

In 1990 she became a Research Assistant and Senior Instructor at the Metabolic Research Centre (MRC) of Dr. Deutz in the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, University Maastricht, the Netherlands and then Senior Instructor.

In 2007 she joined Dr Deutz as a Research Associate at Center for Translational Research on Aging & Longevity (CTRAL). Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging.
